NVQ Assessor
Q.
Can I really pass this NVQ in 4 weeks?
A.
Yes you can, and here is how…
In fact, it is in our interest to complete your assessment as soon as we can.
1.

Prerequisites for the NVQ Level 7 Construction Senior Management

a.
You must have hands-on, practical experience in a construction senior management role.
b.
You must have access to evidence (emails, documents, work records) from your current or recent projects where you carried out this role.
c.
You should be comfortable discussing your work, decisions, and management approach during professional discussions with an assessor.
2.

Senior Management Work Evidence

Product evidence plays a key role in covering the assessment criteria. The more evidence you can provide, the easier and quicker it will be to cover all topics.

We understand that in some workplaces, certain activities are agreed verbally or may not have formal documentation, which is perfectly acceptable. You just have to demonstrate what works in your organisation.

For your guidance, we have created the evidence checklist PDF based on our experience of what candidates typically have available. It should help you self-assess your readiness and feel more confident going into the assessment.

Have you checked the PDF file and still reading? Good... That means you likely have the required evidence.

We can move on to the next part.

Assessment (planning and execution)

This is our secret sauce and where all the magic happens - this is what makes it possible to complete the assessment in 4 weeks.

When you book your assessment, you'll get an invite to a 15-min Teams or Zoom video call. During this induction call, you'll discuss and agree on the assessment plan, your potential evidence, ask any questions, and finalise enrolment formalities so that we can register you with the Awarding Body.

We ask you to estimate how much time it will take to organise your product evidence for the assessment. Based on your estimate, we can book two dates in the next 4 weeks on the calendar for assessment sessions.

For efficiency, each session is designed to cover a substantial amount of criteria through professional discussions:

1st assessment session: Typically covers around 60–70% of the assessment criteria through professional discussion.
2nd assessment session: Completes the remaining criteria (100%) and finalises your assessment.
We won’t ask you to type reports in online portfolio. Instead, we talk about your day-to-day work practice. We relate all questions to your industry and experience. So in the end, it feels like an everyday conversation, not an exam.

Congratulations!

If you followed the plan and your circumstances didn’t change from the initial assessment plan, you have completed your NVQ assessment in 4 weeks.

Assessment and Discussion Style

All our assessors come from real, hands-on construction experience, so you can expect normal, down-to-earth communication. Likewise, most of our customers do not have an academic background; instead, they have long-term professional experience across different industry sectors.

The assessment criteria tend to be generic and are designed to fit any industry situation. This, of course, causes ambiguity and a lack of clarity when read by an untrained eye.

Our approach is to adapt these questions to your situation and industry, so they make sense and are easy to respond to.

We respect the non-academic mind and speak in simple language, relating all questions to your industry experience to ensure relevance and clarity.

Your NVQ Diploma

Following the 2nd assessment session, your assessor will wrap up and prepare your assessment portfolio for submission. Once ready, we submit this portfolio to our centre IQA for verification.

Portfolios are typically verified within 3-5 business days. When IQA has signed your portfolio, we claim your NVQ diploma from the Awarding Body, which then can take from 2-15 business days to arrive. However in most cases, it arrives within days.

Yes, but...

Q.
What if I don’t know, or I’m not sure about something?
A.

You always have the opportunity to discuss any questions or concerns before the formal session starts. Our assessors have a ground-to-earth approach, and communication is always straightforward.

During the initial induction call, you can raise any questions and make sure you feel comfortable and confident going into the assessment.

Q.
What if my circumstances change and I have to cancel the meeting?
A.

We always offer the option to reschedule the meeting to a more convenient date. We only ask that you let us know as early as possible so that we can offer the slot to another candidate.

Assessment can be adjusted to your pace if needed. Speak to your assessor.

Q.
What if I select a 12-month payment plan but complete the assessment in 4 weeks?
A.

Once you have completed the assessment and we have received your NVQ diploma from the awarding body, we will review your account. If you are on a payment plan, we can offer the following options:

1.
Pay in full, and we will release your NVQ diploma.
2.
Stay on the payment plan — we will release your NVQ diploma once the final payment has been received.
3.
Sign the Early Certificate Release Agreement by providing your ID and proof of address and agreeing to continue making payments on the plan. Once signed, we can release your NVQ diploma immediately while you remain on the payment plan.
