The Gold CSCS Supervisor card is held by supervisors, foremen and gangers who lead teams on site. It shows you hold a recognised supervision qualification and have passed the health and safety test for your level. Both Level 3 and Level 4 NVQs on this page lead to the same card.

Validity & renewal
The Gold Supervisor card lasts 5 years. To renew, retake the Supervisor HS&E test — you don't retake the NVQ, as the qualification doesn't expire.

Experienced supervisors can Fast Track a Construction Site Supervision NVQ in as little as 4 weeks — and Fast Track is included with every booking for eligible candidates. At a normal pace, most candidates complete in around 6–8 weeks. During assessment planning we'll look at your evidence and work history and advise whether a 4-week completion is realistic for you.
Either the Level 4 Construction Site Supervision NVQ or the Level 3 Occupational Work Supervision NVQ can lead to the Gold Supervisor card, depending on your role. Use the comparison table above to choose.
No. NVQs are assessed through evidence of your real work and professional discussions with your assessor.
Yes. To apply for a Gold Supervisor card you need a valid CITB Supervisor HS&E test passed within the last two years, in addition to your NVQ.
