Carpentry NVQ Level 2 On Site Assessment Requirements
If you are a working carpenter with experience in the industry then NVQ Level 2 Carpentry assessment is for you.
The NVQ Level 2 Carpentry assessment and training course has been developed for working carpenters that have sufficient expertise in their field and those who can demonstrate their required carpentry competence, as written in the National Occupational Standards.

During the carpentry NVQ assessment course, you will be required to provide evidence for the assessment criteria listed above. If you have any photos or videos of your previous site carpentry work, you can use this evidence for your current assessment portfolio.
The evidence we collect from you must demonstrate your skills and ability to carry out quality carpentry work in compliance with site specifications and safety requirements.
In order to prove your competence, we'll be looking at your practical skills as well as overall knowledge of materials and tools that you use on a daily basis to make sure that you can identify the correct methods and sequence of work related to the site carpentry trade.
For us it is important to see that you are safe on the site, therefore, we also focus on the H&S aspect i.e. correct use of PPE and safety equipment.

The Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Carpentry (Wood Occupations) assessment course is developed for those that have substantial experience in a real-world setting that indicates their capability to achieve the Carpentry qualification .
This assessment and training course enables participants to demonstrate their experience and obvious understanding of carpentry. It also allows a skilled worker to showcase his or her skills in an actual workplace environment, to ensure that they can perform Carpentry duties within the building sector.
After starting the NVQ L2 in Carpentry assessment course, you will be assessed according to a set of knowledge and performance assessment criteria that has been recognised by the National Occupational Standards relevant to the work area. The assessment will be executed by a friendly and occupationally-skilled professional who is well qualified to provide you with the necessary support to help you attain your certificate.

NVQ Assessment Process
Once you have applied for the NVQ Level 2 Carpentry program, will be assigned a dedicated assessor for your NVQ assessment who will provide support and help you achieve your qualification during the entire course.
Our expert assessor will conduct the On-Site Assessment & Training (ASAT) course meaning that no days off work are required. Your assessor will organise a visit at your work site on a day and time that is ideal for you. With your contribution and involvement, the assessor will plan the assessment methods , such as observation of your job and discussion about your performance, to gather the evidence needed to confirm your proficiency in Carpentry.
Usually, it takes 2 meetings with the assessor to cover all assessment requirements, but this may differ depending upon your capability and motivation to cooperate with your assessor.
Assessment Timescale
Prior to commencing the NVQ Carpentry assessment course, you'll talk about all aspects of your employment situation with the assessor to set a completion date. Once you can agree on the practical and achievable completion date, the assessment can start .
The NVQ assessment and training course can take from 2 to 6 months before you can order your CSCS card; however, the assessment timeframe can vary and vastly depends upon your employment situation, motivation, and ability to provide the assessor with the needed info for the NVQ Level 2 Carpentry qualification.

Do I need to do CSCS H&S test once I have completed the NVQ course?
To apply for a CSCS card, you must have a valid H&S test, passed within the last two years.
As of 2nd September 2019, all applicants who apply for the CSCS card with the NVQ Diploma are required to pass the CITB Health, safety and environment test. You can read more about this change by following this link: https://www.cscs.uk.com/about/faqs/?faq_category=983
How can I verify your company accreditation?
Up Level training centre is officially registered and accredited by several nationally recognised organisations such as National Specialist Accredited Centre (NSAC) - CITB Division, Pearson (Edexcel) and Open College Network West Midlands (OCN) as NVQ assessment and training centre for construction-related qualifications.

Can I skip levels and get higher NVQ level qualification?
Yes, you can skip levels as long as you can prove your competence in your field of expertise.
Can I fail the NVQ assessment?
Before invoicing and registering you with the Awarding Body, our assessor will carry out screening of your knowledge and overall work experience to confirm your ability to cover the assessment criteria for the qualification. The assessment cannot be completed without your participation; you must be motivated and be able to co-operate with the assessor to achieve the qualification.
How soon can I apply for a CSCS card?
The assessment timeframe might vary depending on circumstances of your employment status and ability to present evidence of your work practice. Typically, you'll discuss all aspects of your circumstances with your assessor before commencing the course to confirm the potential completion date. Once you can agree on the realistic and achievable completion date, the assessment can start.

Yes, you can register for the course without NI number.
When can I expect my NVQ Diploma/Certificate?
Once your assessment is completed, and your portfolio submitted to the awarding body for the achievement, typical waiting time is 5-7 working days. The actual wait time might vary from case to case depending on awarding body's workload. Our sales dep will release the certificate upon receiving the final payment.
