The NVQ Level 2 Dry Lining Fixing assessment course is designed for experienced dry liners fixers who have sufficient knowledge in their industry and who are capable of demonstrating the required dry lining fixing practical skills according to the National Occupational Standards.

A typical dry liner fixer is expected to know how to:

  • follow the specifications and drawings to set out the stud walls
  • build and repair metal stud partition walls to the required standards
  • carry out 1st and 2nd fix
  • install MF ceilings
  • erect walls over three meters high
  • build encasements

The dry lining NVQ level 2 assessment course must contain evidence, which shows the learner has a clear understanding of the general Health and Safety of the site. Thus, a dry liner fixer is required to demonstrate the ability and knowledge to carry out work safely, according to the site rules.

If you just started dry lining work and you feel that you're not ready yet for dry lining fixing, then you might want to consider less advanced, NVQ Level 2 Boarding / Tacking qualification.
