The CITB Site Supervision Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) is a two-day course for individuals who are either already working in the construction industry as site supervisors, or are ready to progress into a supervisory role. Prior experience is not mandatory.
Its purpose is to educate you about your legal responsibilities relating to health, safety, welfare, and environmental aspects at the workplace whilst supervising operatives on site.
To take this course, you must have a good understanding of both spoken and written English.
The course modules cover a range of subjects, including the Health and Safety at Work Act, occupational health supervision, behavioural safety, and effective toolbox talks.
Furthermore, the course directly addresses the specific site issues that you can encounter on a daily basis. You will engage in case studies, participate in classroom discussions, collaborate in group work, and deliver individual or group presentations, all aimed at enriching your learning experience. Your progress will be continuously assessed, culminating in a multiple-choice test.
